Slovak Pub: a huge institution running on produce from its own farm
By Natália Bartošová · 8 July 2026 · 1 min read
Slovak Pub on Obchodná is among the oldest and best-known addresses for traditional Slovak cuisine in the city — a huge space seating over 500 guests that, despite its size, keeps quality consistent.
What to try
Garlic soup served in a bread bowl is the classic nearly every first-time guest orders. Just as worth having are the potato dumplings with bryndza cheese and bacon — the ingredients come from the restaurant's own eco-farm.
Atmosphere
Several connected rooms in an old-tavern style, with craft-themed decor on the walls. Despite the scale, the atmosphere holds up — if anything, it's an advantage for larger groups.
Good to know
Given the capacity, finding a table without a reservation is rarely a problem, which isn't typical for other traditional spots downtown.
